Pedrollo JCR Shallow Well Jet Pumps
KSh 6,000.00
The Pedrollo JCR range of self-priming jet pumps offer reliability and ease of use with the added benefit of stainless steel pump body and stainless steel and nyrol internal components for slightly aggressive wate
Surface Pumps
Perfect for shallow wells, rivers, tanks, ponds, and irrigation systems, our pumps are installed right where you can see and access them, making maintenance a breeze. Say goodbye to complicated underwater installations and hello to simple, reliable water flow!
Features of Our Surface Pumps
- Stainless steel body makes it non-corrosive.
- High-grade cast iron impellers for long term performance.
- Self priming capability: some models don’t need priming.
- Thermal overload protection: the motor has built-in protection that automatically turns off the pump in case it overheats.
- Compact and portable design: surface pumps models are portable and have a design that makes handling easy.
Specifications of Surface Pumps
Specifications vary with the pump model

- Flow Rate (Capacity): Up to 120 Liters per Minute (L/min)
- Head (Lift Height): Up to 55 Meters (m)
- Suction Depth: Up to 8 Meters (m)
- Voltage: Available in 220V (Single-Phase) and 380 V(Three-Phase) options.
- Inlet/Outlet Size: 1.0 inch to 1.5 inch.
- Flow rate ranges from 20l to over 400 liters per minute depending on the type.
Operating Conditions
Surface pumps are designed to handle clean or slightly dirty water with minimal sand or sediment. The maximum water temperature is usually 40°C, ensuring safe and efficient performance. Pumps should be installed on a stable, level surface close to the water source to reduce suction loss. For outdoor installations, it is advisable to protect the pump from direct sunlight and rain using a pump cover.
Types of Surface Pumps
Surface pumps come in various types and sizes to suit different needs. The most common types include centrifugal pumps, self-priming pumps, and jet pumps.
Centrifugal pumps are simple and efficient for general water transfer. Self-priming pumps can re-prime automatically after losing suction, making them suitable for intermittent use.
Jet pumps, which use a venturi system to increase suction power, are ideal for slightly deeper sources and higher-pressure needs.
The right pump depends on water depth, distance, and the amount of water required.
How surface pumps operate
A surface pump works by creating suction that draws water up through a pipe and transfers using delivery pipes. The pump motor powers an impeller that moves the water quickly and efficiently. Since installation is on the ground surface, the pump is easy to access for maintenance or inspection.
Benefits of Surface Pumps
Choosing one of our surface water pumps provides several practical advantages:
- Easy Maintenance and Repair: Since the pump is installed above ground, any inspection or repair is quick, straightforward, and doesn’t require specialized lifting gear.
- Cost-Effective Solution: Surface pumps generally have a lower initial purchase price and are often more energy-efficient for drawing water from shallow sources
- Versatility: They are perfect for a huge range of tasks, from boosting low household water pressure and running garden sprinklers to emptying a pool or supporting small-scale farm irrigation pump systems.
Ranging from 1/2HP up to 1 1/2HP with flows up to 70 l/min and heads up to 60m they are suitable for domestic, agricultural and industrial use.
They can be used in combination with mechanical pressure switch and pressure tank or Easypress controller to suit a variety of applications.

The self-priming JCR pumps are designed to pump water even in cases where air is present. As a result of their reliability and the fact that they are easy to use, they are recommended for use in domestic applications such as the distribution of water in combination with small or medium sized pressure sets, and for the irrigation of gardens and allotments, etc.
Suitable for use with clean water and liquids that are not chemically aggressive towards the materials from which the pump is made.
The pump should be installed in an enclosed environment, or at least sheltered from inclement weather.
